A project in Aldinga focused on future-proofing a hospitality site that currently accommodates multiple tenants.
The works include a new building addition delivering improved accessibility, upgraded amenities and back-of-house facilities, including a new commercial kitchen for the Rustic Thai Restaurant. We worked closely with our client to refine the proposal, integrating key building compliance requirements while responding to specific tenant needs and existing site constraints. This process resulted in the successful securing of Building Consent and Development Approval. We subsequently managed a select tender and negotiation process, and the project is now under construction, with completion scheduled for late May.
A crossover of uses will also occur with Under The Sun Cellar Door, which will share these facilities along with external dining areas and light-filtered tasting spaces across the site. Mavtect also assisted in obtaining separate Development Approval for the Cellar Door, which is housed within an adaptively reused barn and is now operational.
Future expansion of the site is planned to build on the themes established in the current works, balancing contemporary form with the existing architecture. Material selections have been carefully considered to complement the quality of the food and wine offerings, while enhancing comfort, accessibility, and flow which creates a setting that encourages patrons to return.
